My Approach
People Protect What They Love - But Do We Really Know How to Love Our Planet?
What I Do
Many activists who talk about climate change begin with statistics, warnings, or guilt. While the urgency is real, I find that these messages often make the actual problem feel distant or overwhelming. How many of us are sick of hearing about global warming when it feels like it has nothing to do with our day to day lives?
My approach to global change begins somewhere different.
Before asking people to care about the planet, I want them to see it. Through travel, exploration, and storytelling, I try to show the beauty of the places and ecosystems that make our world extraordinary—from remote islands to fragile marine environments. By showing people why the planet is worth protecting, I hope I can also show them the very real effects that are happening much closer to home than they think.
People protect and care about what they love, but why should they care about something that they can’t see?
However, admiration alone is not enough. Once someone sees the beauty of these places, the reality associated becomes impossible to ignore. Unfortunately, many of the ecosystems that inspire us today may not exist in the same way within our lifetimes. 50% of coral reefs globally are gone, only 36% of our rainforests remain intact, essential marine species populations are declining, and rising temperatures are already reshaping coastlines and communities around the world.
My goal is not simply to alarm people, but to help them understand what is truly at stake. The ocean quietly supports life on Earth—regulating climate, producing oxygen, and sustaining ecosystems that millions of people depend on. If those systems collapse, the consequences will reach far beyond the water.
By combining exploration, science, and storytelling, I hope to help people see the planet not as something distant, but as something extraordinary that is worth protecting.
“Once you fully realize the situation then you will know what to do.”

What I Am Working Towards
Encourage 10+ countries to adopt stronger ocean protection policies
Raise $100,000 for marine conservation organizations
Speak to 100,000+ students and young people about ocean science
Support the protection of 30% of global oceans by 2030
Help push for global bans on shark fin trade
Promote international policies similar to Canada’s national shark-fin trade ban passed in 2019
Advocate for stronger implementation of the Oceans Act and expansion of Marine Protected Areas so that at least 30% of Canada’s ocean territory is protected by 2030
Raising hundreds of thousands of dollars through expeditions, partnerships, and speaking engagements to support organizations protecting marine ecosystems and climate resilience
Push the USA to reenter the Paris Agreement, along with other major climate change contributors
