Projects
Here is a small sampling of the projects I have or will be completing in the next few years.
Iceland Climate Research Paper
One of my first independent research projects explored how countries like Iceland are developing innovative solutions to address climate change. Iceland’s geothermal energy systems and carbon capture technologies offer a glimpse into how a low-carbon future could work in practice.
In this paper, I examined how renewable energy, carbon removal technologies, and government policy could contribute to reducing global emissions. This project marked the beginning of my interest in understanding how science and innovation can help address climate change.
The Great World Race - November 2026
The Great World Race is a project I will be undertaking this coming November. The goal is to travel across multiple continents within a short period of time, documenting the beauty of our planet’s ecosystems and sharing why they are worth protecting.
Through photography, storytelling, and public speaking, this project will focus on helping people see the extraordinary environments that exist around the world—and understanding what we stand to lose if we fail to protect them.
Internship With Shark Research Mexico - August 2027
Next year, I will be completing a two-week research internship with Shark Research Mexico, a non-profit organization based in Baja California Sur dedicated to the scientific study and conservation of sharks and rays in the Gulf of California. The organization conducts field research on shark populations, behavior, and ecology while working to protect these species through science, education, and community outreach.
During the internship, participants assist researchers with hands-on monitoring techniques such as tracking shark movements, collecting biological data, and studying how human activity affects marine ecosystems. These programs are designed to train the next generation of marine scientists while advancing research that helps protect sharks and the ocean environments they support.
This experience will allow me to learn directly from marine biologists while contributing to real research on species that play a critical role in maintaining healthy ocean ecosystems.
Non-Profit Plastic Removal Company - 2028
In 2028, I plan to have my not for profit company up and running. Our goal will focus on the removal of plastics and garbage from oceans around the world. We will offer volunteer hours for high school students (and adults for that matter) who can provide photos of their efforts, and export information to us on how many pounds of garbage they removed from their local wetlands. The aim for this initiative is to:
1: Make it easy for internationally minded students to contribute to cleaning up our oceans, and in turn supporting the marine life essential for our oceans to keep functioning as one of the biggest carbon sinks our planet has to offer
2: Have people involved who can raise awareness in their local communities, and make the surrounding areas cleaner and more accessible
4: Allow easy access to making the world a cleaner, and healthier place.
Guided Expedition to the South Pole - December 2029
One of my most ambitious future goals is to join a guided expedition skiing to the geographic South Pole in Antarctica. Antarctica is one of the most important regions for understanding our planet’s climate system, playing a major role in regulating global temperatures and sea levels.
This expedition would be both a physical and scientific journey—an opportunity to experience one of Earth’s most extreme environments while raising awareness about the importance of polar ecosystems and climate research.
